If you are providing the graphics for your vehicle wrap then here is a basic guide on what is needed for printing of the film:
File Specs Requested:
The artwork needs to be laid out on a vehicle template with a 3 to 4 inch extra margin on each side of the vehicle.
Vector art files are preferred whenever possible (AI, EPS or PDF) . (Adobe Illustrator CS4 or below). Vector images can be scaled as large as possible without sacrificing image clarity.
If you are not using Adobe Illustrator, please contact us at 248-912-9000 for more details.
Turn all fonts in your artwork to ‘outlines’, eliminating the need to provide fonts. If this can not be done, then we will need to be provided all fonts with your artwork.
All images, should be in CMYK color format. Using the Pantone PMS colors where possible (Pantone Matching System). Be sure to specify all PMS colors. Not all PMS colors are reproducible in CMYK, so we will match it to the closest CMYK color.
Different printers will produce different color appearances using the same formula. So if you are concerned about how a particular color, your art file quality or how the colors will reproduce or appear off our printers a color film sample will need to be produced and approved.
We recommend that you request a hard copy proof (printed on our actual wide-format printer) and verify the colors and images in the final proposed setting weather indoors office setting or outdoors. Note: Colors in a outdoor or ever daylight setting are much different than how they appear in an indoor environment. Vehicle graphics, hard copy proofs should always be verified in a bright outdoor environment.
Hard copy proofs are available on request and maybe a scaled down version or a small section of the artwork that can be used to check colors, image resolution and any laminate options.
How to send us Art files: Artwork can be uploaded to AMS or supplied on a labeled CD / DVD’s. Also, sending a proof of each of the files to be printed lets us know what you are expecting and helps us see if there are any missing fonts or graphics files. PDF Proofs are the best way to provide an electronic proof.
